Frame:
Shadowfax is made from aluminum alloy 6061, it is build on a progressive hardtail frame welded to perfection . The one thing you notice when you ride the bike is how light weight it is as compared to other bikes from Ninetyone. The light weight frames makes it easier on climbs. The Bike comes with a single frame size which is 18.5" . Shadowfax is ideal for riders with height ranging from 5.6" to 6.2". Ninetyone provieds lifetime warranty on it frames. Suspension, Brakes and Tires:
Shadowfax comes with lockout suspension fork from zoom with 120mm suspension travel. which is sufficient for flat roads, or moderate bums and offroad trails. The lockout feature enables rider to lock the suspension fork in order to accelerate faster. The bike is equipped with mechanical disc brakes at the front and rear, the brakes are smooth and powerful. During both interval and jamming of brakes, I felt in control. Shadowfax comes with 29x2.35" DSI tires which gives good grips on road and trails. The tires are heavily threaded giving the bike a good aggressive look. The front wheel on Shadowfax comes with a quick release making it easy to remove on the go.
Handel and Groupset:
Shadowfax comes with an alloy handelbar. The handlebar on this Bicycle was both comfortable and wide enough to give the rider an open chested riding posture. Bike is equipped with shimano Tourney at the front and Altus at the rear which Stands above Tourney in the hierarchy chart. The shifting was smooth On rough urban roads and flat trails, these derailleurs were ideal for quick and short gear changes. The Shimano trigger shifters were easy to use and in easy reach from the handlebar grips. The bike also comes with Alloy Prowheel crankset which makes the riding experience more pleasant.
Experts Opinion: Shadofax is build on a strong light weight alloy frame which is very comfortable to ride. It is packed with features like zoom lockout suspension fork, shimano Groupset, Alloy handelbar, alloy seat post and prowheel crank making the bike idea for someone looking for an upgrade. Shadowfax's colors and graphics makes it more appalling. priced at Rs.23999/- is bang for your bucks.
